You can invest in some of the top midcap funds like Axis midcap fund, invesco midcap fund, DSP midcap fund. In small cap you can consider Nippon Life small cap fund, SBI small cap fund, DSP smallcap fund, Franklin India smaller cos fund etc.,

SBI Blue chip Fund : 4000
Could you please recommend one or two more MFs that i can additionally invest in.

Hello Rajat, You need to invest in mutual funds for long term. If your time horizon is 5 years, you can invest in balanced funds like HDFC Hybrid fund or ICICI Pru debt and equity fund etc.,
Hi Suresh. I want to invest 2k per month in large cap funds for 3 or 5yrs as the return is high.
With which fund I should go with?
Also tell me if I should invest in MF or not as I am new investor. and I have no other investments. Is it safe if I chose to invest in MF rather than investing in LIC or Post office.
Hello Tejas, Here are my comments 1) You can select any fund from this top 10 largecap funds list 2) If you are new investor, you can invest in mutual funds. To start with you can invest in balanced funds and then move to large cap funds over a period of time. LIC plans are not investment, these are investment plus insurance ones. You can consider term plan for insurance coverage and balance surplus invest in mutual funds. Post office schemes are good and safe, however these offer low returns.
Sir,
Can we consider ICICI pru US Bluchip fund for Rs3000 SIP for 5 year perspective.

And have amout of Approx. 3Lkhs . I need this money invested with less risk . Can i invest in balanced funds in present time . If yes please suggest one or two balanced fund where i can invest this money.
Munish, I would advice you to move such lumpsum into a 2-3 liquid funds and do systematic transfer plan (STP) to any balanced funds like HDFC hybrid fund, icici pru debt and equity fuhd and Tata hybrid fund for next 9-12 months (like SIP).
Hi Suresh,
I have one question though not related to MFs.
Can you please shed some light on INDIGRID INVIT. I hear that these are safe investment option which gives Rs.3 per unit as interest every quarter (not sure though).
My question is that is Rs.3 interest is fixed or its based on trust’s decision to give or not.
Would be good if you can let me know.
thanks
Nirmal
Hi Nirmal, InvIT investment option is for high risk. There is no guarantee that you would get regular returns. This segment is yet to be matured for investors to invest. The Rs 3 what you are talking about is NOT fixed. This can change periodically.
