Are these any risks involved?
These are sector based funds, hence are high risk. However if you observe, this risk is mostly when you want to get out of such schemes within very short term. In short term to medium term of 3-5 years, you would get superior returns. If you do not need money in short term to medium term, you should invest some of your portfolio in these best sector based funds for 2017. Hi Suresh,
Recently SBI and couple of other banks have started the trend to reduce the SB interest rates, I hope other banks would follow this soon. Since the market is at peak, it is difficult to push the SB account money (for urgent needs) into stock market. Could you please write a topic for alternate to SB account. I’m thinking of Liquied funds, is it better bet than SB? Please share your thoughts.
Thank you,
Ganesh
Hi Ganesh, Liquiid funds are alternative to funds kept in SB accounts. Short term debt funds / debt funds are best alternative to bank FDs.

Dear Sureshji,
I Observed any mutual fund 1st year \eturn is more than second and third year,it is advisable to switch another scheme after one year.
No Sanjay. You should hold them. You can wait for atleast 3 years to see the returns from the sector funds. Then you can take the decision.
