In this article, I would provide details about how to open Sukanya Samriddhi Account / Yojana at post offices and banks. How to open Sukanya Samriddhi Account / Yojana account in post offices and banks?
While Govt. of India has announced more than 45 days back, application forms to open Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna account is still not available at post offices and banks. Recently post office has updated their website with Sukanya Samriddhi details, however, still the application form is not yet available. However govt. of India under its circular has provided relevant guidelines and application form. This was uploaded on post office website.

How to open Sukanya Samriddhi Account / Yojana account in post offices and banks?
Currently only post offices are accepting to open Sukanya Samriddhi Account. Here is the process.
- You can download Sukanya Samriddhi circular + application form here or approach post office for application form
- Fill the application form
- Carry Aadhar card copies + photographs of parents and girl child.
- You can carry cash to make your first deposit. I am not sure whether Post Office would be accepting cheque for your first deposit.
- You would be given passbook to operate the account.
In which banks, we can open account for Sukanya Samriddhi Account / Yojana?
You can open Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account at major Public Sector Banks (PSU) listed below. However, they are yet to gear up their systems to open this account. I feel it may take another couple of weeks by the time PSU Banks would be ready with this.

i have 5 years old daughter i want to open sukanya account and want to invest 10000 rupees yearly after complion how much amount will paid after 21 years

I have contacted SBI, PNB and IDBI banks with the request for opening Sukanya Samriddi account but all of them say that they haven;t received any notification from their headquarters.

Banks are interested to give Home loan and personal loan to increase their revenue. Very bad.

In fact none of the bank has any info regarding this scheme. This is really strange as Govt has instructed banks to provide regular updates on the progress of account opening. But still banks are not responding. Let’s wait for few more days till next update come.
Suresh sir for your sukanya post i am little disappointed why you are showing only 1000/ & 150000 yearly installment as you this scheme for poor people they may contribute 12000/- yearly why not given details for that when some one invest 12k up to 14 yrs of girl then after 21 yrs of girl child what he will get..
My calculations says has to invest 1.68 thousand then will get 6.5 lac approximately

SBI doesn’t have any intimation of this yojna and they do not know how to open account…

It is now about 2 months since the govt announced the Sukanya Samriddhi scheme for the girl child. Where is the application form for this scheme. The staff at the post offices don’t know anything. Moorthy, They are insisting on Aadhar card as this is required for address proof. I do not know wehther they can accept any other govt id proofs like PAN card or Voter card
Is this SSA best bet than PPF? I can see that this(SSA) will be for 21 years long and no carry over if the guardian expires. What’s your call on this suresh?
