How Investing.com’s AI Strategy Predicted the Rally in Vedanta, Nuvama & SAIL on May 1st

Every investment decision ultimately comes down to two questions:

    • Which stock should I buy?
    • When is the right time to enter or exit?

Get both right and returns can compound meaningfully over time. Get them wrong, and even fundamentally strong companies may underperform expectations.

That’s the gap Investing.com is trying to bridge with InvestingPro — a platform that combines AI-driven analysis, financial data, and systematic investing tools into one research ecosystem.

Instead of relying on scattered spreadsheets, brokerage reports, and multiple finance websites, investors get access to structured strategies backed by quantitative models.

    AI Predicted this rally

While Indian equities have remained volatile through May, several stocks added by InvestingPro’s Bharat Market Outperformers AI strategy on May 1 have continued to gain momentum. Among the standout names were Vedanta, Nuvama Wealth, and SAIL.

The difference in performance has been notable. While the NIFTY 50 has slipped around 1% this month, Vedanta, Nuvama, and SAIL have gained roughly 22%, 12%, and 5%, respectively.

The Stocks Spotlight feature shows when a stock entered a strategy portfolio, how long it has remained there, and its performance since inclusion. That added visibility gives investors more context around portfolio decisions rather than just static recommendations.

    How InvestingPro’s AI Strategies Work

One of the platform’s most discussed features is ProPicks AI.

Rather than generating speculative trading calls, the system evaluates stocks using a combination of:

    • 50+ financial metrics
    • Historical performance trends
    • Forward-looking estimates
    • Cross-sector comparisons
    • Risk-adjusted portfolio construction

The AI then builds an equal-weight portfolio of roughly 15–20 stocks that aims to outperform benchmark indices over time.

    The structure is straightforward:

    • Investors allocate equal capital to each stock
    • Portfolios are rebalanced monthly on the 1st
    • Typically, 4–8 stocks are rotated in or out during each rebalance cycle

A key differentiator is transparency. Instead of providing opaque “buy” signals, InvestingPro explains why a stock was added or removed, allowing investors to understand the reasoning behind portfolio changes.

India-Focused AI Strategies for Different Investing Styles

InvestingPro currently offers five India-focused AI strategies designed around different risk profiles and market themes:

    • Bharat Market Outperformers — Large-cap focused strategy targeting consistent outperformance against the Nifty 50
    • Bharat Mid-Cap Movers — Focused on higher-growth mid-cap opportunities
    • Bharat Small-Cap Gems — Aggressive small-cap strategy with higher risk-reward potential
    • Bharat Infra Titans — Infrastructure-focused thematic portfolio
    • Bharat Bargains — Concentrates on fundamentally undervalued companies

According to InvestingPro’s published backtests, Bharat Mid-Cap Movers outperformed the Nifty Midcap 100 by 1,360% over seven years, while Bharat Market Outperformers exceeded Nifty 50 returns by 919% over the same period.

More recently, since the ProPicks AI feature went live in early 2025, Bharat Market Outperformers has reportedly delivered a 19% return, compared with a 2.8% decline in the broader benchmark.

Of course, past performance does not guarantee future results. But systematic investing approaches can help remove emotional decision-making — one of the biggest challenges for retail investors.

    Final Thoughts

Markets often reward discipline more than prediction.

Structured systems, consistent research, and data-driven decision-making can help investors avoid emotional mistakes during volatile periods.

The recent moves in Vedanta, Nuvama, and SAIL have once again highlighted how AI-assisted stock screening tools are increasingly becoming part of modern investing workflows.

For investors looking to streamline research, track structured portfolios, and access AI-backed investment strategies, platforms like InvestingPro are positioning themselves as an alternative to traditional stock-picking approaches.
